What’s the difference between a sorority and a "women’s fraternity"?

Is that just like calling a fraternity a "men’s sorority"?

A frat is the masculine term while a sorority is the feminine.

    "Sorority" refers to sisterhood and "fraternity" refers to brotherhood. So if someone were pedantic, they might say that a "women’s fraternity" is actually a sorority and that a "men’s sorority" is actually a fraternity. However "fraternity" is often used more freely.

    The term sorority was coined after fraternity. Some women’s fraternities were already in existence before "sorority" came into common usage and some that were created afterward preferred using fraternity to maintain equality with the men’s organizations.
