I don’t see how getting my butt kicked leads to me loving the fraternity and my new found "brothers".
It does not!!!
If you are a pledge in a frat (I doubt sorority girls are beating up their pledges) and they are beating you "to see if you can take it", and/or still want to be there/still show loyalty….you need to quit right now, walk straight out, swallow your pride and respectfully resign.
If a brotherhood depends on physically assaulting a pledge, then seeing who is stupid enough to stay and then call them brothers, they are pretty weak as a brotherhood to begin with.
They need a new direction and better principles on why they want to call themselves brothers. They are no better than punk-thug gangs that "beat-in" their members.
Really….if you are in college and some brother feels he needs to beat the crap out ouf you to see if you are worthy….why would you want to call this guy brother?
Frats go way beyond your school years and should compliment your personal and professional life…..would you really want to possibly have a guy offer you a job, be your boss or help you get a home loan for you and your family because you got your butt kicked by him in college? Probably not…..
That would be such a great story to tell your family at a big Thanks Giving dinner…."Yea…..and we got into this nice big house with such a great interest rate because Brother____ kicked my butt my freshman year and totally thought I was cool and took a beating well……" Yea…like dude in frats like that would even have a job in banking!!!
Be smart.
