Can anyone tell me about the greek life at these schools?

I’m interested in going Greek in college, and I’m wondering about these AND if you know specifics/stereotypes on even a few of the specific sororities PLEASEEE let me know!

Also, how are the parties/ what are the people like?

-Penn State (I know they have great greek life, but any specifics?)

- University of South Carolina

-UNC at Charlotte

-UConn

-Indiana at Bloomington

well at penn state about 13% is greek.
and theres TONS of different ones.
theres actually a fair that every greek organization runs a booth at, and there are parts the specify in community service that will look really good when u try to get a job (instead of just the ones that party.)

    Chances are that no one on Yahoo Answers is going to know that information. But anyway, people’s perceptions on sororities are not all the same and could be very misleading. Especially since the chapters change over time, and could be pretty different than they were when someone was at the school 5 years ago. Your best bet is to look them up through the school websites, and just meet them for yourself.

    A very basic generalization is that sororities in the south are larger and more traditional.

    PSU has one of the best greek systems in the nation.
    Their are about 50+ Fraternities which have between 25 and 100 members each (45 is the average i believe)

    Their are like 26 sororities and they average like 80-100 sisters each and do NOT have houses. but its not a problem b/c they really don’t need houses.

    The main philantropy is THON which is largely run by Greeks and is the largest student run Philantropy in the WORLD. (7.7 million for childhood cancer last year)

    The party scene is top notch…you just gotta see it to believe it.

    Other things Greeks do are: Homecoming, Greek Sing, and all kinds of other stuff.
