Delta Sigma Theta or Alpha Kappa Alpha?

Which sorority should I join when I get to college and why? I really have no choice on this one. I just need opinions on both sororities and would love to know which one you think is better for me.

I agree with prettyakadoll1908,,,,you will have to research the organization as a whole to see which one fits you best. Not only should you visit the websites that she listed, but also if you want more info,,try reading "In Search of Sisterhood" by Paula Giddings, this is the history behind DST,and also try "Divine Nine" by Ross. This is also a great book because it tells the history behind AKA, DST, ZphiB and SGRho…as well as the fraternities.

    This is a really difficult question because joining a sorority is such a personal choice. The chemistry between you and the women who are currently active in the chapter is going to be the key factor in making the choice, not some outsider’s opinion of one sorority or the other. Keep in mind that chapters differ from campus to campus and what may be true about a sorority at one university may not be true at a school across town.

    No one can tell you which sorority to join. Research both sororities, talk to the members and goto the events held by both sororities. Once you join, it becomes a life long commitment.

    This is a personal choice you will have to make on your own. Conduct as much research as you can on both organizations, and research the chapters at your school as well, to decide which sorority appeals to you the most. Good luck.
