All colleges have different policies, but most will allow you to defer admission for 1-2 years for good reasons. You must provide your reasons, and tell them what you plan to do during your year off. Deferments are almost always granted for military service, Peace Corps, Volunteer or Service programs.

That is great that … That is great that you can do something unique and different in order to defer college. college is important, but life experience is more so.
